Your Weekly Tarot Reading for December 18–24, 2022: Bidding Adieu to 2022!
It’s cold and dark here in the Northern Hemisphere as we wrap up the year, but this week we celebrate the return of the sun with the winter solstice on Wednesday, Dec. 21, the shortest day of the year. From here on out, the days will continue to get brighter and the energy lighter!
Our intuitively pulled Tarot cards reveal that this is an excellent time to slow down and reflect on the lessons we have learned over the past year to tie up loose ends, finish whatever we wish to complete before the new year begins, and set our intentions accordingly with the ambitious yet practical Capricorn new moon.
Read on for your Tarotscopes with guidance and support in the week ahead.
Aries: Five of Cups
Let go of the past, Aries. The year’s ending brings up a lot of emotions for you as you reflect on situations that did not go as you hoped. Instead of thinking about how everything could have gone differently, look at the lessons you have learned and focus on what you wish to do differently in the future.
MO RE TAROT: How to read and use Tarot cards
Taurus: Justice
Consider other perspectives, Taurus. Everyone is pulling you into your drama this week so if you must get involved, hear out all sides before letting your emotions lead with your guidance and advice. Be the peacemaker by contributing a practical approach to the situation so everyone can move on amicably.
Gemini: Knight of Swords
Slow down, Gemini. A wave of ambition has washed over you, compelling you to attempt to get a lot done before the end of the year but before you proceed full steam ahead, it would behoove you to organize your thoughts and create a more thoughtful plan for yourself. Otherwise, you will waste your time with false thoughts and no follow-through.
Cancer: Strength Reversed
Keep your cool, Cancer. Aspects of your current situation feel rather frustrating because honestly, the outcome is completely out of your hands! This will take some time to resolve, but blowing up or losing your temper will not move it any faster. Surrender to the circumstances and breathe.
MORE TAROT: What karmic gifts will you inherit in this life?
Leo: Two of Wands
What’s next, Leo? Some major opportunities are being presented to you right now that deserve proper consideration. This can be an impactful turning point so keep your cool but don’t choose lightly. Think about where you came from and where you wish to go before making your final commitments.
Virgo: Queen of Pentacles
Get more comfortable, Virgo! As the year winds down, this is a good time to focus your intention on upgrading your home to make it cozier. Invest in deluxe linens, upgrade your bed pillows, or even buy a new piece of high-quality furniture in the name of your own pleasure.
Libra: The Emperor Reversed
Execute your plan, Libra. If your responsibilities and tasks have been falling through the cracks and left undone, this week provides an opportunity to finally get organized. Be thoughtful with your to-do list and be realistic with your energy level in order to have that much-needed follow-through.
MORE TAROT: Is your past holding you back?
Scorpio: The Star
Magic is all around you, Scorpio. You just need to ensure that you see it! Keep your eyes open and notice the auspicious details this week. The universe is offering signs to show you that you are on the right path and that your sacrifices this past year will be worth it.
Sagittarius: The Magician
Set your intentions, Sagittarius. Have you begun envisioning what you desire to accomplish in 2023? If you haven’t yet, then it is a good time to start! Spend this next week visualizing where you want to focus your energy and how you can lean into your strengths in the year ahead.
Capricorn: Three of Pentacles
Ask for help, Capricorn. You cannot possibly do everything on your own, and you must know that you cannot be good at everything! If you want to get more done — and done well — then it is time to hire people to do what you can’t. The relief this will provide you will show you that it’s money well spent.

Aquarius: The Tower Reversed
Do what you must, Pisces. Making a change is challenging, but avoiding it does not ease the discomfort or magically make it go away. If anything, delaying the inevitable just causes more stress! It’s the end of the year, and you must as well face this necessary transition now before it gets more difficult.
Pisces: Death
Close the door, Pisces. We are in the home stretch of the end of the year. So, if anything needs to be wrapped up and left in 2022, now is the time to get to wrapping! Do yourself a favor and let it go.
