Your Taurus Season Tarotscope Takes You Through the Darkness into the Light
Dear readers, as the sun shifts into Taurus, Spirit sends a message for all signs to ponder: “Through the Darkness into the Light.”
Feel and honor all that comes up for you during these difficult times. There is a great but painful birth at hand. The pain is here to teach us, to prime us, to help us evolve. The turmoil is here to dismantle our walls, to break our hearts open, and allow more love and compassion to fill in and radiate out. The future is unclear because the present is where we need to be. We are in the tunnel; we are in forced hibernation. We may not feel the air from the opening, we may not see the light at the end, but know that it is there.
Your Tarotscopes below will help you tune into what your soul needs to focus on or address during this Taurus season. Read for your sun, moon, and rising.
ARIES
4 of Swords & 2 of Pentacles
Dear Aries, this Taurus season the Tarot invites you to be conscious of your energy and step into your flow.
The 4 of Swords is the card of momentary rest, a time to breathe during the chaos. The 2 of Pentacles depicts a figure juggling two coins and speaks of balance and multitasking.
When our day-to-day has been uprooted, when our sense structure and stability are no longer, we have to create a new routine for ourselves. The 4 of Swords and the 2 of Pentacles offer balance and consideration. They ask you to make sure you are giving yourself enough rest, and also tending to your needs and doing what you need to do for yourself and your loved ones. This is difficult for many who have children or who have lost their source of income. These cards do not come in to judge you or test you, but to ask you to consider your energy. Can this day and this moment be about rest? What does that rest look like to you? Is it a nap for fifteen minutes, or staying in bed until 1 p.m.? Then, can this day be a bit more productive? Perhaps cooking a meal that will feed you for a couple of days, or getting some sunlight and breathing fresh air? Set yourself up for success, and work in harmony with a schedule or a rhythm that you can get behind.
TAURUS
4 of Pentacles & Page of Cups
Dear Taurus, Happy Birthday! This season the Tarot invites you to begin or continue the practice of allowing yourself to find safety and security in these times.
The 4 of Pentacles speaks to our relationship with our bodies and the physical world, what we hold on to and what we covet. The Page of Cups is the child of water, innocent and bright-eyed, open to the magic of the world. Having our physical needs met is one source of comfort. We must show gratitude for having a roof over our heads, food on our plates, and running water. We must thank our bodies for housing us and being our sacred vessels. However, we must not forget our emotional needs.
The Page of Cups asks us to look into what helps us feel safe in our heart space. Does saying “I love you” help us feel comforted? Does putting on our most comfortable sweater and filling the room with beautiful incense or flowers lift us up? Does laughing at a silly movie give us hope? Our emotional existence is just as important as our physical existence. We must not forget to feed that part of our souls.
GEMINI
Ace of Swords & 9 of Wands
Dear Gemini, this Taurus season the Tarot invites you to step into a new way of thinking when the odds feel stacked against you.
The Ace of Swords is the herald of new ideas, inspiration, and epiphanies. The 9 of Wands depicts a figure who is exhausted but still standing.
It is okay to feel run down, it is okay to feel overwhelmed and depleted. You are not a machine, and you have nothing to prove. We are all trying our best and that is all we can do. The 9 of Wands honors your efforts and acknowledges that these are trying times, and it is pushing all of us to our limits.
The Ace of Swords flies in to offer a new perspective. Instead of the current circumstances driving you toward your breaking point, is it proving how strong you actually are? Are you finding hidden reserves of love, compassion, resourcefulness, and ingenuity? Are you finally understanding how capable you are, how wonderful and selfless you’ve been through these dark times? Are these challenges awakening your inner warrior?
CANCER
The World & 8 of Swords
Dear Cancer, this Taurus season the Tarot invites you to open up your intuitive senses and feel and connect to the energy of all that’s around us.
The World is the card of the collective, of Mother Earth, of Father Sky, of the cosmos within and beyond. The 8 of Swords is the illusion of entrapment.
You may be physically limited. You may be stuck in your apartment or home, feeling like a caged bird, feeling cut off from the people you love. The 8 of Swords acknowledges the state of your physical surroundings, but it also acknowledges the limitations you have created in your mental, emotional, and spiritual environment.
With the World as your guide, you have the ability to connect in other ways. Whether it is technology, or meditation, creativity, or simply deciding that you are experiencing this with everyone around you. You may feel physically lonely, but your spirit and your heart are not bound by space and time. Find ways to elevate your soul, to reach higher, so you can expand your consciousness outside of your confines.
LEO
2 of Wands & 6 of Swords
Dear Leo, this Taurus season the Tarot invites you to expand your vision and see the possibilities available to you even during these dark times.
The 2 of Wands is the card of potential; what do you see for yourself and what represents your highest form of fulfillment? The 6 of Swords depicts figures being ferried across still waters, it represents safe harbor and gentle movement.
The current state of the world has forced us to see things differently, to possibly seek new opportunities, to find safety and comfort in other ways. The 6 of Swords says we are being carried, or we are carrying ourselves, toward some sense of peace. Whatever that looks like is up to you.
The 2 of Wands does not ask you to see “the bright side,” but it does ask you to see the possibilities. It offers a nudge, a helping hand to lift you up. Can you gently, and slowly begin to make your way out of the darkness? If you need to stay there longer, that is okay, but you cannot stay there forever. If the possibilities seem out of reach, or you can’t quite see the way out yet, try and take the first step toward a better feeling place. Whether that means getting up a bit earlier, picking up a book you’ve been putting off, or simply giving yourself more moments of deep inhale and exhale. Find expansion in ways that are big or small.
VIRGO
4 of Cups & The Emperor
Dear Virgo, this Taurus season the Tarot invites you to step into your power through discernment and composure.
The 4 of Cups is sometimes read as apathy, but can also be read as satiety, the concept that your cups are so full you no longer need to fill them at this moment. The Emperor is the card of discipline, power, and responsibility. Do not feed into the panic and hysteria. The 4 of Cups asks you to clearly decide when enough is enough. Do you need more groceries or are you already well-stocked? Do you need to watch every stressful news report or are you already well-informed? Do you need to hoard all the resources or do you have what you need?
The Emperor asks you to keep calm, to hold down your fort, to be a source of strength and stability for yourself and others. Do this by being smart, listening to facts and not sensationalism. Do this by thinking of others, by practicing generosity when you can, by being safe and aware, by knowing that your actions affect others.
LIBRA
Page of Swords & 9 of Swords
Dear Libra, this Taurus season the Tarot invites you to acknowledge your shadows and seek knowledge to help heal.
The Page of Swords is the seeker, the student, the curious child of Air. The 9 of Swords is the card of self-realized hurt and torment.
We all have hidden fears. We all have traumas and deep wounds. The 9 of Swords honors this, and it asks you to decipher what is actually happening in your life versus what is happing in your head. Are your thoughts making your current scenario worse? Or is it actually all in your mind?
The Page of Swords says it is time to understand how our mind works. How can we learn about our own thought processes, how can we expand our toolbox so we can work with our mind, versus allowing it to run the show? Seek wisdom. This wisdom can come through meditation, through self-help books, through an inspirational or eye-opening movie, through a trusted friend or therapist. Study your mind so you can learn to master it.
SCORPIO
3 of Pentacles & 6 of Wands
Dear Scorpio, this Taurus season the Tarot invites you to find community during this time of isolation.
The 3 of Pentacles is the card of group effort and cooperation. The 6 of Wands is the card of recognition and achievement.
How can you serve and contribute, dear Scorpio? If you feel helpless at this moment, know that there is so much you can do. With the 3 of Pentacles, know that no effort is too small. How can you support your friends and family, how can you support your coworkers and your community?
The 6 of Wands says we should celebrate no matter the size of the victory. If all you could do was make a friend laugh today, celebrate that. If all you could do was cook a meal for your children today, celebrate that. We must keep our spirits lifted, we must keep moving forward, helping each other, caring for each other.
SAGITTARIUS
2 of Swords & The Hermit
Dear Sagittarius, this Taurus season the Tarot invites you to surrender to the power of The Hermit.
The 2 of Swords shows a figure blindfolded and speaks to confusion and indecision. The Hermit is the card of ascension through introspection.
There is no choice but to go within. The 2 of Swords delivers the illusion of options, but it is actually asking you to give in to what is. The gift available to you is offered by the Hermit. When you can’t go outside, go within. What does that mean exactly? That answer is yours alone. Meditation is one path. If that feels inaccessible to you, find what helps you process, what helps you feel present in your body. Find what instills inner peace. Is it dancing in your room? Is it snuggling with your pets? The moments when your mind becomes quiet, and you are fully enveloped in your senses, these are the gateways that lead to self-expansion.
CAPRICORN
Ace of Pentacles & Queen of Pentacles
Dear Capricorn, this Taurus season the Tarot invites you to seek new ways to heal and nurture your physical body.
The Ace of Pentacles the seed of opportunity. The Queen of Pentacles is the caretaker of our physical needs.
These two powerful earth energies want us to align with our bodies more than ever. When our mind is bombarded with fear, confusion, and frustration, our bodies can act as a safe haven. How can you lean into the comfort of your physical being? It’s not always about eating the most nutritious fruits or making sure you exercise every day.
Can you allow your body to indulge in delicious treats without feeling guilty? Can you give it time to sleep for more than eight hours without judgement? Is your body most relaxed and do you feel healed after five hours of binging your favorite show? It’s about balance, not excess. But sometimes the idea of excess is what will keep you in balance.
AQUARIUS
3 of Cups & 3 of Wands
Dear Aquarius, this Taurus season the Tarot invites you to lean on the ones you love for support.
The 3 of Cups is the card of friendship, connections, and communion. The 3 of Wands is the card of enterprise and action.
We need each other now more than ever. The truth is not all of our loved ones have a harmonious relationship with us, they may be negative or even draining. The 3 of Cups asks you to spend more time and energy on those that uplift you. Empathy, kindness, and compassion are so important in these trying times—and unfortunately, not everyone is capable of that now, or they choose not to be.
The 3 of Wands, the card of positive momentum, declares that we need to keep sending each other light if we are to move forward. We do not need others dragging us down. This is not about being a pessimist to a naive optimist, it’s about being a realist. And in reality, positive energy, love, connection, and support is what we need to survive.
PISCES
The Lovers & 5 of Swords
Dear Pisces, this Taurus season the Tarot invites you to see the difficulties as mirrors and portals for growth.
The Lovers depicts love and relationships with romantic partners, with friends and family, and with ourselves. The 5 of Swords is the card of strife and conflict.
When our entire world and our sense of reality and normalcy are uprooted, we are taught what truly matters—love, friends, and family. Are there any hurts, grudges, or resentments you are holding on to for no reason other than your pride? Sometimes it doesn’t matter who was wrong and who was right, any dense energies you carry only cause you suffering.
Of course, if someone abuses you, makes you feel unsafe, or continues to cause you pain, you must separate yourself from that person or create very strong boundaries to protect yourself. The Lovers and the 5 of Swords ask you to process your anger and meet your higher self on the other side, where forgiveness and inner peace lie.
