Venus in Aquarius: A David Bowie Moment

The Man Who Fell To Earth (1976)

Venus entered Aquarius yesterday, and with the sun soon to follow, we earthlings are tuned-in to that sign’s futuristic, androgynous vibe. It’s a David Bowie moment—specifically, his 1976 incarnation as Thomas Jerome Newton, The Man Who Fell to Earth.

Visionary Aquarius (Bowie’s real-life rising sign) is always on the cutting edge, with an uncanny ability to anticipate future trends. At its best, this inventive sign channels its genius into serving the greater good and making the world a better place. Curious about your rising sign? Find out today!

But in its relentless pursuit of innovation, Aquarius sometimes forgets its own humanity, taking on a cold, clinical detachment. And like this gloriously over-the-top sci-fi fantasy, Aquarius can also overindulge in weirdness for its own sake—which may be alienating for some.

Today also features a trine between Mars in Scorpio and Chiron in Pisces. Slowly and steadily, we’ve been gathering our energies and resources, and now we’re ready to do whatever it takes to accomplish our objectives. This could play out in ways that are either healing or harmful, depending on the motivations behind it. Thomas “falls to earth” out of desperation, with an elaborate plan to save his family and home planet from a deadly drought. What’s driving us—love, or self-preservation? We’re only human, so it’s likely a mixture of the two. Be aware of any hidden agendas.

With Mercury transiting Capricorn for the last week, we’ve been busy plotting our long-term goals and mapping out step-by-step processes to achieve them. But our focus can get blurry tomorrow, when Mercury sextiles Neptune in Pisces. Alcohol, sex, TV… right now there’s plenty of distractions to lure us off track, so be careful not to lose sight of where you come from and where you want to go. Watch The Man Who Fell to Earth here!
