The New Moon in Taurus Wants You to Touch it and Taste it

New Moon in Taurus Tuesday, May 15, 2018

Each month at the new moon, the sun’s creative spark joins forces with the moon’s nurturing energy, making it the perfect time to plant seeds and set intentions for whatever you’d like to grow in your life. It’s not always something you can see, hear, smell, taste, or touch… but when the two luminaries meet up in earthy Taurus, our new moon wishes naturally take a turn toward the sensual world.

What Does the New Moon in Taurus Mean?

Taurus is all about embodiment—being fully present in our bodies (not stuck in our heads) and savoring the sweetness of the here and now. Those of us feeling burned out from the frenzied activity of last month’s new moon in Aries can heave a sigh of relief, as this new moon invites us to slow things down to a more leisurely and sustainable pace.

Words like “sustainability,” “stability,” and “security” are music to Taurus’s ears. It’s not enough for this fixed earth sign simply to enjoy nature’s abundance today— there should be plenty put aside for tomorrow as well. The Taurus new moon invites us to take stock of our resources (money and material possessions, as well as intangibles like skills, talents, and energy) and consider how we might do better at managing and caring for them.

Yes, we’re living in a material world… and this new moon invites us to enjoy all it has to offer!

Just remember, every sign has its shadow side. So if we’re prone to Taurean vices like materialism, laziness, or stubbornness, we’ll also want to think about expressing this energy in more enlightened ways.
