November 2025 Astrology: Surrender to the Unexpected

As we continue to move through the transformative depths of Scorpio season, November begins with a major martian and venusian shake-up. Scorpio’s ancient planetary ruler, Mars faces off with erratic Uranus, activating unpredictable events, rebellion against the status quo, breakthroughs, truth bombs, anger, and events that demand courageous action. Just days later, a powerful Taurus Full Moon activates the axis of creation versus destruction concerning love, relationships, and contracts with others. As we move towards the middle of the month, Mercury retrograde invites the collective to slow down, revisit the past, reflect, and revise critical areas of life. Finally, Saturn, the harsh father of time, stations direct for the final time in Pisces at the month’s end, inviting us to integrate the lessons that began March 2023. Here is what you can expect astrologically for the month of November.

Mars enters Sagittarius

On November 4, Mars, the celestial god of war, anger, passion, and action, bursts into mutable fire sign, Sagittarius. This six-week transit encourages the collective to move fast and ask questions later, take risks, speak truth to power, and explore boldly. The same day, Mars forms a hard aspect called an opposition with eccentric, rebellious, and unpredictable Uranus retrograde in Gemini. We have not experienced this explosive planetary connection since the last time Uranus was in Gemini 84 years ago. This is an unstable connection so it’s important to be aware of triggers and monitor impulsive actions leading to life challenges, aggressive behavior, or physical injuries. This aspect will affect mutable signs, Sagittarius, Gemini, Pisces, Gemini, the most.

Full Moon in Taurus

The full moon in Taurus on November 5 brings matters of safety, security, resources, intimacy, shared resources, and value to the forefront. The moon is exalted in Taurus, while the sun stands across the sky in Scorpio, with dark feminine rebel, Black Moon Lilith. The moon and sun also form supportive trines with the north and south nodes in Pisces and Virgo. Together, this lunar planetary alignment is pushing the collective to decide what’s worth holding on to, and what should be purged in order to create space for something more aligned to take its place. Those with Scorpio and Taurus placements most specifically may finally call back their value and shed what’s holding them back from their life path.

Venus enters Scorpio

Venus, the planet of love, beauty, relationships, and material possessions, moves into her detriment on November 6, in fixed water sign, Scorpio. Love and romance takes on an intense and passionate tone, as Venus’ typically harmonious nature is out of her element here. This is a period of honesty and deep emotional connection, as superficial relationships won’t cut it. Venus is asking you to dive into the depths concerning the bonds with others. Expect contracts, agreements, and love that’s no longer necessary and financially draining you to fall away.

Uranus Retrograde enters Taurus

After the fiery and fast Mars–Uranus opposition activates Sagittarius and Gemini—Uranus retrograde re-enters Taurus for the final time in our lifetime on November 7. This marks the closing chapter of a revolutionary cycle that began in 2018. Since Uranus first entered Taurus, the planet of disruption and innovation has radically transformed how we relate to money, self-worth, beauty, and the Earth itself. We’ve witnessed sweeping shifts in currency, financial systems, technology, and our relationship to stability and comfort. As Uranus retrograde revisits Taurus one last time, it asks us to reflect how we have evolved in this area of life. It’s time to identify where we have become too attached to the familiar, and if we’re finally ready to embrace the unknown.

Mercury Retrograde in Sagittarius & Scorpio

The third and final Mercury retrograde period of the year begins on November 9 in Sagittarius, where Mercury is also in its detriment. This combination can stir up miscommunications, ideological clashes, and the exposure of hidden truths; especially around belief systems, and global cultural narratives. Words may carry extra weight now, so practice patience before reacting or giving an opinion. Mercury then retraces its steps back into Scorpio on November 18, turning the conversation inward and more emotionally charged. Secret motives and power dynamics surface for review. In general, Mercury retrograde isn’t the best time to launch new projects, have important conversations, sign new contracts, or form new agreements or relationships. Prepare for travel disruptions, technology glitches, and verbal conflict leading to misunderstandings too. Waiting until after Mercury stations direct on November 29 is wise, and if possible, wait until after the post-retrograde shadow period ends on December 17 for even smoother momentum.

New Moon in Scorpio & Sun-Mercury Cazimi

The Scorpio new moon on November 20 perfectly aligns with Mercury retrograde’s Cazimi, creating one of the most potent energetic resets of the year. During this time, Mercury meets the sun in an inferior conjunction, symbolizing revelation, breakthrough understanding, and the birth of new ideas emerging from reflection. Cazimi is an Arabic term meaning “in the heart of the sun,” describing the brief period when a planet like Mercury is within 17 minutes of arc from the sun’s center. Rather than being overwhelmed by the sun’s light, the planet is purified and empowered. As a result, this new moon is not a time to initiate, planet new seeds, or push a new reality forward. It’s inviting deep introspection, emotional rebirth, and a transformative pause to realign your inner worlds before the next chapter begins.

Sun and Venus enters Sagittarius

The sun enters Sagittarius on November 21, followed by Venus on November 30, bringing a much-needed lift after Scorpio’s emotional depths. We’ve cleared away the clutter, and now the universe wants to expand and bring optimism in its place. With Mars already in Sagittarius, this fiery trio sparks motivation, optimism, expansion, new experiences, and the drive for freedom. The sun and Venus’ square to the lunar nodes in Pisces and Virgo, also grounds this activation and reminds us that growth requires releasing perfectionism and trusting the unknown. This Sagittarius season is inspiring us to expand and reconnect with our personal truth.

Saturn Direct in Pisces

At the end of the month, Saturn stations direct in Pisces on November 27, marking the resolution period of a transit that began in March 2023. This shift signals a turning point in the emotional restriction and spiritual lessons we’ve been navigating over the past two years. As Saturn moves forward, we’re called to apply what we’ve learned about boundaries, compassion and emotional responsibility. The fog begins to clear, revealing the new structure that must be actively put in place to positively move forward in life.
