New Moon in Sagittarius: Empower and Uplift
Sunflower
This weekend’s new moon brought a feeling of freedom, as the sun and moon are in the last degrees of Sagittarius before heading into more grounded Capricorn.
New moons are great activation tools for beginning a new project or attitude, and Sagittarius energy is warm and energetic. When looking for a symbolic tool to represent how to use this energy, we find the bright rays of the sunflower.
Sagittarius is the adventurer, and so we need to work to keep ourselves motivated, and going on our path.
Sunflowers are named after the sun because they are as open, warm and happy as the sun; they personify the brightness of the day. They represent ourselves as who we are meant to be, our self in the healthiest form, able to reflect out and give to others, as well as enjoy our own gifts. They symbolize abundance.
Find out where abundance lies for you in 2018 with an in-depth tarot reading!
Just looking at a sunflower can boost happiness, but there are also seeds hidden within that help us as well.
Sunflower seeds are highly nutritious and have many health benefits, for the heart, the thyroid, and the skin. Perhaps most importantly, they are a great source of magnesium, a mineral that helps us in many ways but is hard to get enough of in modern diets.
Some of the best benefits of magnesium are that it helps fight depression, is anti-stress, helps us regulate sleep, and generally keeps us calm and relaxed. Sunflowers are seen as holding the power of the sun, and are used to transform negative energy into positive energy, the same way that a sunny day can lift moods.
Use the new moon today to empower and uplift yourself, to approach what you’re heading towards with a relaxed and confident manner.
Grounding Elements Pro-Tip: Grab a handful of these sunflower seeds from Farm Fresh Nuts, with Himalayan sea salt added for even more nutritive enhancements.
