Mercury in Sagittarius: Speak your Truth
Kumaré (2011)
This Thanksgiving weekend finds us just beginning to emerge from Neptune’s fog, as the planet of mysticism and illusion itself emerges from a five-month- long retrograde period. If you’re looking for a mantra to get you through this confusing time, why not take Sri Kumaré’s advice: “Embrace illusion to find truth.”
Who’s Sri Kumaré, you ask?
As this childlike yogi will be the first to tell you, he’s definitely not who you think he is. Indian-American filmmaker and religious skeptic Vikram Gandhi creates this alter ego in the hope of debunking dubious spiritual “gurus” and showing seekers that the real teacher lies within. But to his surprise, Kumaré soon becomes an unlikely guru himself—and Vikram struggles with how to unveil his true identity to his devoted disciples.
Join Vikram Gandhi on his surprising adventure from skeptic to guru here.
On Friday, as Mercury in Sagittarius squares retrograde Chiron in Pisces, we may find ourselves in a similar dilemma. The faith we have in ourselves, the confidence to speak our truth and share our wisdom, can be undermined by confusion, self-doubt, and feelings of unworthiness. But an inspiring trine between Mercury and retrograde Uranus in Aries the next day can make us bold enough to tell it like it is, no matter what the reaction may be.
If we haven’t been totally honest about something important, Sunday’s first quarter moon in Pisces puts the pressure on to come clean before things go too far. Some people in our lives will be more forgiving than others. Be prepared to accept the consequences and willing to work at rebuilding broken trust.
Mercury conjoins Saturn in Sagittarius on Monday, reminding us yet again to communicate with integrity. We have the potential right now to connect with ancient spiritual traditions and timeless wisdom, but it’s crucial that we honor them and use them responsibly.
Use the ancient symbolism of the Tree of Life to understand the direction your life is evolving and how to reach your goals.
