Mercury Enters Leo to Set Your Mind on Fire
Mercury enters Leo on August 4, 2020 at 7:32 p.m. and will leave Leo to enter Virgo on August 19, 2020 at 6:30 p.m.
In recent months, we have been submerged within stormy seas as Mercury traveled the watery depths of Cancer. During this time, it also experienced a tumultuous retrograde cycle that lingered throughout all of June and July. The world was forced to rebalance logic and emotions to better face the personal and global challenges this year has brought down upon us. Yet, as Mercury becomes ignited within Leo, our ability to see the joy in life will begin to reappear.
Mercury in Leo Meaning & Effects
As Mercury, our celestial messenger, enters Leo, it will finally feel more uplifted and exuberant. With our cosmic planet of the mind—a logical, communicative, and rapid planet—in a compatible fire sign, our ideas and words will ignite like wind turns a spark into a wildfire. Everything that Mercury touches will be grand and flamboyant now, as this newfound energy encourages us to put ourselves, our opinions, and our egos first.
Of all Mercury transits, this will infuse the human collective with great mental confidence to express ourselves more theatrically, persuasively, and passionately. On one hand, this energy can inspire a nation, but on the other, it can cause further distance when people cannot see eye-to-eye.
As a fixed fire sign, Leo energy can be resistant to change and favors the ego over compromise. This can cause stark division between people, parties, and nations who are stubborn and arrogant already. This may elicit a ferocious roar to intimidate competitors, but can also give one the courage to finally speak up.
During this transit, promoting oneself is favored, and delivering bold declarations at maximum volume will improve your ability to get what you desire. Going “public” with news will bring attention—for good or for worse, as it will now have increased exposure. While “proof” and “facts” aren’t as important, using impressive words, visuals, and dazzling theatrics become more powerful. This, too, can have an effect on romantic seduction and business deals, as well.
The greatest benefits of Mercury in Leo, though, allow us to be more entertaining and lighthearted. This can be a time of laughter and higher-levels of mental happiness. Above all, it is favored to focus on how one can be their most authentic self and then share that light with the world.
During its voyage in Leo, Mercury makes three very notable aspects with other planets. On the tenth, Mercury will square Uranus, causing unexpected events to come our way. As both planets are highly mental, this can bring anxious or shocking news that causes us to shift direction. However, on the seventeenth, Mercury becomes supercharged as it trines Mars. Concentration, focus, and decisiveness are guaranteed. Also, on this same day, the sun and Mercury meet in a conjunction, bringing mental clarity and opportunities for success.
