May 2025 Forecast: Embody Your Desires to Initiate Future Change

Welcome to May 2025! The highlight of this month is the first ingress of Saturn into Aries, with implications that will affect us until 2028. This brings an opportunity in May to begin seeding far-reaching plans. Venus Conjunct Neptune

Venus re-enters Aries on April 30, following its retrograde period, and immediately connects with Neptune on May 2. Reflect on what Venus retrograde brought into your life; how have your wants, desires, and needs shifted? With Venus meeting up with Neptune in Aries, a call to clarity on what is real versus ideal is prevalent. A journaling practice for this month is to write out your wants, needs, and desires, to connect with them. Throughout May, journal about what your ideals are versus what is happening on a daily basis. This practice can initiate a new desire that Venus calls for Saturn to carry along later in the month.

Pluto Retrograde in Aquarius

On May 4, days following the Venus/Neptune conjunction, the underworld lord, Pluto, goes retrograde in Aquarius. When Pluto goes retrograde, reflecting on your relationship to empowerment is always a subtle yet potent moment. The sign of Aquarius wants to know about how you have been standing in your authenticity, while Pluto will take you down into the more vulnerable underworld spaces to confront the answer. If you have kept up with the journal prompt, something might arise today.

Mercury Enters Taurus

On May 10, the agile and witty planet Mercury enters the steady, sensual sign of Taurus. With Venus still moving through Aries, Mercury is moving to the rhythm of Venus. Be mindful of this to allow yourself to understand that Mercury in Taurus is calling forth your ability to translate your desires of comfort. Speak kindly and plainly about what your needs are at this time. Allow your words to be as sweet as a calf that only desires to enjoy the simplicity of the sunlight and grazing in the field all day.

Scorpio Full Moon

On May 12, we have a full moon in Scorpio. Scorpio is a fixed water sign ruled by Mars and Pluto. Allow this full moon to guide you into the deeper emotional drives that are consistently taking place below the surface, as you continue to identify what brings you fire and desire. Scorpio is a sign that tends to be secretive, but this is an opportunity to connect with the part of yourself that longs to experience intimacy in the form of vulnerability. Remember that expressing vulnerability is not for another, it is for you. With Mars being in Leo and ruling the full moon, reflect on how you may block your own shine or miss opportunities to be truly seen, because you’re busy cloaking the deepest parts of yourself.

Mercury in Taurus

May 18, Mercury in Taurus squares Mars in Leo following the Scorpio full moon. Keep a watchful eye on what was uncovered as Mercury in Taurus moves into a square with Mars in Leo, and may encourage you to speak up about your values to be seen and heard. Mercury in Taurus asks you to communicate your needs clearly, but you can only do so when self-recognition is present.

Sun enters Gemini

On May 21, the sun enters Gemini’s versatile, curious, and communicative energy. The sun in Gemini brings with it the buzzing of busy bees. Travel, chatter, and acting on new ideas will fuel your creative spark. During the sun’s stay in Gemini, ask yourself if the information you are gathering supports personal, local, or global ecosystems through cross-pollination, or are you taking in information that polarizes your mind?

Venus Trine Mars

On May 22, Venus in Aries trines Mars in Leo, giving you a burst of energy and confidence in your ability to move forward with the new desires, wants, and needs that you have been working to cultivate.

Mercury Conjunct Uranus in Taurus

On May 24, Mercury and Uranus, the two planets corresponding to the nervous system, meet in Taurus. The combination of these planets can stimulate the nerves. What are your favorite ways to experience simplicity, comfort, and serenity? Break from any craziness by pausing a moment to connect to the feeling in your body that arises when you imagine yourself on your favorite beach, taking a hike in nature, cuddling with a lover, or whatever brings your heart to a place of peace.

Saturn in Aries

On May 25, Saturn makes its first entrance into Aries, giving you a taste of what is to come until it retrogrades into Pisces in the fall. On the Saturn in Aries transit, Astrologer Hugh Tran said, “ Saturn in Aries is about navigating structures in times of collapse or crisis. Building boundaries and solidifying oneself despite a hostile or rapidly changing environment.” Learning to move at the quick pace of Aries because everything around you is changing, while having the presence of mind to build beyond what is right in front of your eyes, like Saturn, is being presented to you at this time. Look at your desires this month and how they align with your long-term plans.

Mercury enters Gemini, Gemini New Moon

May 26, Mercury enters Gemini, just in time to host the new moon in Gemini. This makes for a dynamic new moon with many possibilities for future lunations. The new moon is in a sextile with Saturn in Aries, inviting you to stay witty and adaptable as the new arrival of Saturn in Aries begins its new conversation with you. The new moon also trines Pluto in Aquarius, giving another nod to this new moon’s ability to have a long-term effect, if appropriately utilized.

Mercury Cazimi

May 29, Mercury is cazimi. When Mercury is within seventeen minutes to one degree of the sun, it is considered to be cazimi. Cazimi is a condition of a planet that is said to be in “the lap of the king,” when it is emboldened. Mercury is already in the sign of its home, and being in the heart of the sun gives it extra potency. Use this moment to write intentions, pick up new ideas, and socialize to end the month on a high note.

May 2025 is filled with exciting energy that will bring new foundations and structures to your life. Embrace the journey and move forward with excitement and curiosity!
