Here's What Scorpio's Full Flower Moon Means for You
At 2:11 p.m. PST on May 18, 2019, the full moon will be in Scorpio (27°39’).
Full moons have a way of stirring up our deepest emotions. But at the full moon in Scorpio, the feelings we express outwardly are just the tip of the iceberg. That’s because this fixed water sign needs to be in control—and that often means keeping messy, complicated emotions on lockdown. After all, Scorpio’s emotions are more intense than most, so it’s only natural to fear being overpowered by them.
What Does this Full Moon in Scorpio Mean?
Still, all that bottled-up energy has to go somewhere. And with a heavy concentration of planets in Taurus at this full moon, we’re most likely to feel it in our bodies. A sun/Mercury conjunction tunes us into messages from our five senses—so if we’ve repressed our true feelings about something, it may show up as physical discomfort or pain in order to get our attention. Fortunately, embodied experiences like yoga, massage, dancing, or sex can help us find release.
Indulging in creature comforts can also be good for the soul—as long as we keep material things in their proper perspective. If not, an exact Venus/ Uranus conjunction (also in Taurus ) could rock our world, forcing us to reprioritize. Our values and desires are undergoing a radical shift right now, so if we’re clinging to something we no longer want or need, it’s time to cut it loose. After all, Scorpio is only interested in the bare essentials. And with ruling planet Pluto conjunct Saturn in Capricorn (a long-term aspect perfecting in 2020), we’re challenged to cut away the dead weight in our lives so we can devote our limited time, energy, and resources to the things that really matter.
This could mean setting firmer boundaries—and having some tough conversations. Fortunately, a trine between Saturn/Pluto and sun/ Mercury provides the confidence we need to stand our ground and embody our deepest truths. Still, with Mars (the other ruler of this lunation) now in super-sensitive Cancer, we’ll want to proceed with caution, as his square with Chiron can trigger fears of rejection, making us more likely to get defensive. Conflicts and confrontations can clear a path to healing, but only if we handle them with care.
What do the stars have in store for you this year?
With Neptune and the nodes in an exact aspect at this full moon, it’s easy to fool ourselves into believing that we’re above it all. But the truth is, most of us still have some unfinished business to take care of before we can truly transcend—and energetically, we’re supported in doing just that. Scorpio may try to hang on for dear life. But ultimately, it knows that life’s too short to stay stuck in the past. Rituals or symbolic actions taken now can help us forgive, express gratitude, and finally let go. At this “Flower Moon,” it’s time to start flowing and growing! Read on for your sun sign (and rising, if you know it) to learn more about the energies of this full moon.
Horoscopes for the May 2019 Full Moon in Scorpio
Scorpio
You’ve changed, Scorpio…but try explaining that to the people closest to you; they’re still trying to relate in the same old way, while inside you’re a totally different person. Don’t be too quick to cut ties, though, as there may still be a way to reconnect.
Sagittarius
Dreaming of quitting your day job, Sag? That might be premature—at least until you have a better sense of how to make it work. For now, clear some space in your schedule to rendezvous with your hidden talent or secret passion.
Capricorn
“Creative control” has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it, Capricorn? But it’s not exactly what you think. Having an original idea is a great start—but to bring it fully to life, you’ll eventually need to surrender and trust the creative process.
Aquarius
Keep the home fires burning, Aquarius —you’ll need them to sustain you physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually as you navigate some profound inner shifts. New insights are coming in right now about your true calling and path of service in the world.
Pisces
You’re a slippery one, Pisces. But when it’s so easy to get lost in your own stream of consciousness, it helps to have some kind of container. Consider joining a supportive community or adopting a new philosophy or lifestyle that makes sense for you.
Aries
You reap what you sow, Aries. And with all the blood, sweat, and tears you’ve put into your career recently, those investments are bound to start bearing fruit soon (if they haven’t already). Just remember to pay back your debts—even better, pay them forward!
Taurus
What’s your obsession, Taurus? Our culture sends a lot of mixed-up messages about what we’re supposed to want in life—but only you know what really turns you on. If something doesn’t resonate with your deepest desires, feel free to say “no thanks.”
Gemini
More fuel for the fire, Gemini —when you’re working and living at this level of intensity, it takes a lot to keep your motor running! Still, this pace may not be sustainable forever. Temper your passion with pragmatism to avoid burning out.
Cancer
A promise is a promise, Cancer. And once you’ve committed yourself, there’s no backing out… even when it’s clearly time to move on. But you’ve only got so much time and energy, so no one will blame you if you start spending it more selectively.
Leo
“Pride and joy,” Leo: If we had to guess, that’s how your family members think of you. You’ve impressed them enough already—so isn’t it time you started pursuing a more personally meaningful goal? Consider what legacy you want to build.
Virgo
We believe in your vision, Virgo, and it’s clear that you do too. More than any other sign, you manage to be both an idealist and a realist. Now all you need is a well-crafted mission statement to attract more supporters to your cause.
Libra
This full moon is called the “Flower Moon…” and right now, Libra, everything’s coming up roses for you! But someone, somewhere, may be going without in order for you to enjoy the finer things in life. Remember to give thanks—and give back.
