Everything You Need to Know About the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio

The second eclipse of 2022 arrives on May 15 at 9:14 p.m. Pacific Time, as the moon in Scorpio sits exactly across the Taurus sun and aligns with the Lunar Nodes of Destiny. This eclipse is the sequel to the new moon solar eclipse that arrived two weeks before, on April 30.

Accumulating the power of three full moons in one, this eclipse brings major endings to our lives, in the area of our lives ruled by Scorpio. Because it’s sitting next to the Lunar South Node, it activates a cosmic void that is bound to suck out of our lives everything that is no longer aligned with our soul’s evolution. Some of these things include emotional and self-destructive intensity, daily habits that have a negative effect on our bodies, as well as our addiction to toxic relationships.

Relationships are an important theme of this eclipse, as on this same day, Venus will be sitting exactly next to Chiron in Aries, the planetary body that rules healing. This Venus-Chiron conjunction could reawaken old wounds around our feminine side, translating to a lack of self-worth and low self-esteem, which reflect on our closest relationships. While this aspect isn’t easy, if we manage to face our wounds head-on as the light of this eclipse illuminates the way, we will be able to move with more confidence. After all, Chiron is the key to unlocking healing, as its astrological symbol depicts.

Another major player in this eclipse is Saturn, which is locked in a tight configuration called a T-square, with the luminaries. From its position in Aquarius since March of 2020, Saturn has been revealing the weak areas of our lives that need tweaking before we move forward with our goals. Aquarius is the zodiac sign representative of the journey that takes us from the past into the future. Saturn’s involvement in this tricky eclipse configuration speaks of the need to step up our game, regardless of how alone we feel on this journey or the hard work we need to put in. Remember that Saturn rewards in the long run— Saturn helps us build stable and successful foundations, but first, we must show up and invest time and effort.

Luckily, there are two planets that aid us in this process of deep transformation. Mars and Neptune in Pisces form friendly configurations with the luminaries, a trine with the moon and Lunar South Node, and a sextile with the sun in Taurus. When Mars and Neptune unite, their combination of energies awakens our ability to manifest through the power of vision. In the midst of this eclipse chaos, they create a window into the deepest corners of our minds, so we can attune to our higher levels of intuition.

The three keys to working with this eclipse are r eleasing and healing, responsibly showing up, but also practicing stillness. In your mind, envision yourself moving away from the past, into the life you’ve always dreamed of.
