Emma Mildon: Your Aries Guide to All Things Spirit

Some people are born dreamers—or searchers. One such woman is Emma Mildon, Aussie, Aries, best-selling author, and millennial mystic. But along with a natural inclination, Mildon’s pull toward spirituality was born of a want of identity. “I was adopted as a baby, and from day one I belonged to everyone and no one at the same time; I was attached to everything and nothing,” says Mildon. In an effort to self-soothe, Mildon embraced all things woo as a child, filling her bedroom with candles, dreamcatchers, incense, fairies, and crystals.

Fast-forward to present tense, and Mildon’s boundless love of woo has matured and expanded to include numerology, all forms of psychism, yoga, meditation, and yes, astrology. This all-encompassing approach brought about her first book, Soul Searcher’s Handbook: A Modern Girl’s Guide to the New Age World, an essential all-in-one guide for contemporary women looking to infuse their daily lives with whichever spiritual elements ring true (consider it a portable self-healing and -harnessing hack). With her latest book, Evolution of Goddess: A Modern Girl’s Guide to Activating Your Feminine Superpowers, Mildon continues her practice of taking an immense concept—in this case, the divine feminine—and translating it into something digestible, and thus all the more empowering. Astrologically-speaking, Mildon is an Aries sun through and through: fiery, bold, driven, and forward-thinking. Because she was adopted as a baby, Mildon doesn’t have access to her exact birth time, but that hasn’t stopped her from familiarizing herself with the celestial bodies and their respective pulls. “I use astrology as a guide, a council, and an advisor,” says Mildon. “Aligning my business, social events, and big life decisions around the stars has helped me to flow with what is meant for me rather than push against it—a habit we Aries are very good at.”

Considering that Mildon’s entire career is built on transmuting spirituality and all that comes with it—tools, approaches, culture, mythology, and everything in between—from an esoteric undertaking to one that’s both appealing and well within our reach, it comes as no surprise that she applies a similar line of thinking to astrology’s modern resurgence. “The days of people reading their horoscope in the newspaper and rolling their eyes are over—people are becoming more aware of the role the moon, sun, and stars play on their behavior and experiences in life, and are more open to understanding and using astrology in their day-to-day life,” says Mildon.

But the ultimate takeaway from the spiritual activist’s professional path? These ancient methods of understanding and acceleration exist for our use. “Why wouldn’t you make use of this guidance? Our ancestors did, kings and queens did. I’ll take as much help as I can get!” And if you need guidance in regard to your guidance, Mildon is your girl.
