Eclipse Season Got You Stressed? Here's How to Deal

If you’ve felt as though your anxiety has been running high lately, or that you’ve been more preoccupied with irrational fears or pangs of panic, you’re not alone.

This summer, there are a series of eclipses that are priming you to do a deep cleanse of your energy field and psyche. On July 12, there was a partial solar eclipse that very well could have to unearthed a subconscious fear of disaster, which everyone has deep down. On July 27, there will be a total lunar eclipse, which represents a time for “resetting” our emotions… and our energy.

This month is a prime opportunity to come to terms with some deeply seated fears and worries that may be unconsciously controlling your life. If you’re feeling on edge, remember that it’s a time for clearing, and it will pass.

Need a push in the right direction? This big-picture reading shows you where to focus…

So, with all that said, here’s how each sign should respond to this summer’s eclipse series in order to move forward feeling renewed and stronger than ever – and to keep your sanity in the process.

Aries

Take time to disconnect, and do something mindless. This is not often advice given to the headstrong Aries, but this month, you need to do emotional processing, not mental processing. Trying to intellectualize the situation is not going to serve you at this time. What you want to do right now is simply be with your tensions and anxieties, see them, and allow them to pass. Spend as much time as you can relaxing and doing things that are sensory and fun.

Taurus

Work on a project that excites you. Tauruses respond to times of change and anxiety with a renewed sense of vision and purpose. This month, you don’t just want to be doing emotional clearing, you want to be restructuring the plan for the next phase of your life. If you’re thinking about a move, career shift or even project you want to get off the ground, use this energy to fuel your ideas and make it happen.

Gemini

Be wary of intense and irrational fear thoughts that will be coming up in these coming weeks. As a Gemini, you’re naturally sensitive to polarized thinking, and when you imagine a worst possible scenario, you’re more prone to start to react to it in a way that other signs won’t. What you need to do at this point is completely ground yourself and remind yourself that even if you think everything’s going to hell, that doesn’t mean it is. The mind can play tricks on you. Learn when to believe it.

Cancer

In a Cancer ’s world, the “worst possible scenario” is you being emotionally vulnerable, which is something you should absolutely keep in mind this month. Maybe your defense are high, maybe you’re too quick to misinterpret someone’s intentions. Either way, it’s a time to recognize that being super reactive to things before you understand them isn’t actually a way to keep yourself safe… often, it makes the situation worse.

Leo

This is a time to let yourself be sad. While other signs are dealing with feeling anxious, panicked, and irrational, this is a time in which Leos will put down their intense defensiveness and let themselves feel into what’s at the root of it all, which is a profound sensitivity and concern for others and oneself. This is a time to let yourself feel that which you typically don’t, and to trust that releasing your feelings actually makes you stronger in the end.

Virgo

Though you’re someone who is always working on how you can help others, Virgo, this is a month to focus on how you can help yourself. Maybe a business plan you had isn’t quite working out, and it’s time to officially pivot. Maybe you’ve let your health or wellness fall by the wayside over the past few years, and you need to get back on track with taking care of yourself. Whatever it is, remember that during intense emotional periods, self-care isn’t just important, it’s essential.

Libra

During this month, Libras will be especially sensitive to their “worst case scenario” fears because of how naturally idealistic they are. This will be a time in which Libras can loosen their grip on life, and let go of their sky-high expectations that are bound to just leave them disappointed. Don’t worry so much about battling your intense fears and anxieties, and focus more on how you can accept life for what it is, the ordinary everyday of it all.

Scorpio

Scorpios are bound to be feeling a lot this month, particularly regarding their relationships and work situation. It will likely be a time in which they’re going back and retracing their steps over the past months and years, really evaluating whether they are where they want to be, and what steps they could take to change the quality of their lifestyle. Remember that this is a time of positive change, even if it’s uncomfortable at first.

Sagittarius

Though Sags are notoriously the most adventurous of all the signs, this might be a time for them to relax and get grounded somewhere. With all the hustle and bustle of the past few months, this is a time to fully process all the feelings that were being backlogged and going unaddressed. A new chapter is right in front of you, but you have to release the past before you can step into it.

Capricorn

You’ve gone through a major emotional purge over the past few months, Capricorn, and now it’s time to make amends and move on. You’ve already been facing your “worst fears” over the past year, regarding success, love, betrayal, or the idea of failure, and what you’re discovering is that even when the worst happens, the real suffering is always in your head. Now, it’s time to prove to yourself that you can not only move on after things fall apart, but you can thrive in a way you never have before.

Aquarius

If you want to truly release the past and enter this new chapter in your life, you’re going to have to accept responsibility for your actions, Aquarius. When there’s a pattern in how people respond to you in your life, it’s usually because of something you are doing continuously, whether you want to realize it or not. This is a month for coming to terms with who you are and how you’ve behaved, and reaching a new level of self-awareness. Just remember: the person that you really need to ask forgiveness from is yourself. A new start is the best way to move on and be better.

Pisces

As always, this eclipse season will probably hit the fish harder than other signs, given how naturally sensitive and intuitive they are. Use this month to focus on your art, your writing, or any other projects that you can pour your creative self into. Remember that the negative thoughts that are circling around your head aren’t reflective of reality, and that you don’t have to respond to them the way you always have.
