Cry It Out, Set Your Intentions, Glow Up — New Moon in Cancer Is Here

Big feelings. Family drama. Relationship reflections. Major childhood nostalgia. These are some of the themes coming up with intensity with the new moon in Cancer.

But why does it feel like a full moon rather than a new moon?

Mercury is in retrograde in Cancer from June 29 to July 23, 2026, amplifying not only Cancer season but also the new moon in Cancer on July 14, 2026. Mercury retrograde brings deep reflection. Memories and things from the past are resurfacing to process.

The upside is that this new moon in Cancer is more powerful and clarifying than ones in the past, because of Mercury retrograde in the same sign. What you may feel is a readiness to release what has come up for you over the last few weeks, to give yourself a fresh start.

It is the perfect opportunity to set new intentions and upgrades to your family life, relationships (especially the one you have with your mother and/or as a mother), how you can prioritize your personal life over work, healing childhood wounds, and making your home a safe haven.
